The HeartBeat - Converting your heart rate into music

The HeartBeat is a custom-designed MIDI controller that utilizes the power of a Teensy 3.5 microcontroller and an IR sensor to capture data from a human heart rate and interpret it into MIDI data, generating music when connected to a DAW like Logic Pro X. I successfully presented the device in Fall 2024 at Texas Tech University in my Music Informatics class as a final project.
